One of the most popular bass guitarists in the world. Multi-instrumentalist, composer, co-creator of the 80's rock and underground scene in Poland (TSA, Oddział Zamknięty, Pudelsi, Kora, Redkot). A member of leading Polish jazz bands (Walk Away - Urszula Dudziak - Michał Urbaniak, Jarek Śmietana, Joachim Mencel).
Crossover musician, fluent in styles including jazz, jazz - rock, afro, fusion, rock, folk, rap, soul, instrumental music, metal, ethno, blues, pop, funky, world music. In the 1990s, while in exile in the USA, he honed his music technique by playing, among others, with Adam Holzman, Bernard "Pretty" Purdie, Mulate Astatke, Kaissa, Pete Townshend (The Who), Ian Paice (Deep Purple), which led him to the greatest stages in the world.
Since 2003, a member of the legendary band SCORPIONS. He was the second and so far last Pole (125 years after Jan Ignacy Paderewski) to appear on the stage of the Madison Square Garden stage in New York. A pacifist, ski, culture and art lover. Happy husband. Father of 2 Marysia and Lukasz.
Career
Paweł Mąciwoda, encouraged by his father, started playing the bass guitar at the age of 15. At that time, he gained the nickname "Bejbi". In the 1980s, he toured Europe with the jazz fusion band Little Egoist, with which he also released his first album Radio Wieliczka, and played with Meness, Dupa and Pudelsi. He was also a member of the jazz-rock band Walk Away, with which he recorded the album Magic Lady (including with Urszula Dudziak and Michał Urbaniak).
In 1990 he left for the USA with the Urszula & Jumbo band, from which he resigned in order to play with American bands, including UEL in Chicago. From 1991 he played with the Florida based Genitorturers team. Later, after moving to New York and then Chicago, he collaborated with various bands and blues and jazz musicians. In 1996, together with Adam Holzman, he founded the band Section 31 and released the album Time Traveler. He played with, among others with the bands First House, Ante-Up, Arnie Lawrence, Majaek Fashek
He also resumed cooperation with Michał Urbaniak, took part in the recordings of the album Urbanator.
In the years 1998–1999 he recorded two albums with the Polish band TSA. In 2001 he returned to Poland, where he cooperated with, among others, the Oddział Zamknięty, Funk de Nite, Redkot, LAPd.
As a session musician, he gave concerts with such artists as: Helena Vondrackowa, Renata Przemyk, Varius Manx, Indigo, Kulturka, Złe Psy, Hiram Bullock, Maciej Maleńczuk WU-HAE, Grube Ryby
Since October 2003, he has been playing in the band Scorpions, on December 20, 2003, he had his first concert with this band. He has been its official member since January 10, 2004.
In the meantime, he runs his own project, Stirwater, and participated in the recording of two albums by the leading Polish jazz guitarist, Jarek Śmietana.
In his Stir Up Studio, he continues with music production, recording and experiments with sound.

Multiinstrumentalista, kompozytor, współtwórca sceny rockowej i undergroundowej lat 80'w Polsce (TSA, Oddział Zamknięty, Pudelsi, Kora, Redkot). Członek czołowych polskich zespołów jazzowych (Walk Away - Urszula Dudziak - Michał Urbaniak, Jarek Śmietana, Joachim Mencel).
Muzyk crossover, poruszający się biegle w stylach m.in. jazz, jazz – rock, afro, fusion, rock, folk, rap, soul, muzyka instrumentalna, metal, etno, blues, pop, funky, world music. W latach 90' będąc na emigracji w USA, szlifował warsztat muzyczny grając m.in. z Adamem Holzmanem, Bernardem „Pretty” Purdie, Mulate Astatke, Kaissa, Pete Townshendem (The Who), Ianem Paice (Deep Purple), co doprowadziło go na największe sceny świata.
Od 2003 roku członek legendarnego zespołu SCORPIONS. Jako drugi i do tej pory ostatni Polak (125 lat po Janie Ignacym Paderewskim), stanął na deskach nowojorskiej sceny Madison Square Garden. Pacyfista, miłośnik nart, kultury, sztuki. Szczęśliwy mąż. Ojciec Marysi i Łukasza.
Kariera
Paweł Mąciwoda, zachęcany przez ojca, zaczął grać na gitarze basowej w wieku 15 lat. W tym czasie zyskał przydomek „Bejbi”. W latach 80. koncertował w Europie z zespołem jazz fusion Little Egoist, z którym wydał również swoją pierwszą płytę Radio Wieliczka, grał z zespołami Meness, Dupą i Pudelsi. Był również członkiem jazz-rockowego zespołu Walk Away, z którym nagrał album Magic Lady (m.in. z udziałem Urszuli Dudziak i Michała Urbaniaka).
W 1990 wyjechał do USA z zespołem Urszula&Jumbo, z członkostwa w którym zrezygnował na rzecz gry z zespołami amerykańskimi, między innymi z chicagowskim UEL. Od 1991grał z zespołem Genitorturers z Florydy. Później po przeprowadzce do Nowego Jorku a później Chicago współpracował z różnymi zespołami i muzykami bluesowymi, jazzowymi, W 1996 wraz z Adamem Holzmanem założył zespół Section 31 i wydał album Time Traveler. Wznowił również współpracę z Michałem Urbaniakiem, brał udział w nagraniach albumu Urbanator.
W latach 1998–1999 nagrał dwie płyty z polskim zespołem TSA. W 2001 wrócił do Polski, gdzie współpracował między innymi z Oddziałem Zamkniętym, Funk de Nite, Redkot, LAPd.

Od października 2003 roku gra w zespole Scorpions, 20 grudnia 2003 odbył z tym zespołem pierwszy koncert. Oficjalnym jego członkiem jest od 10 stycznia 2004.
W między czasie prowadzi swój własny projekt Stirwater jak również brał udział m nagraniach dwóch płyt czołowego polskiego gitarzysty jazzowego Jarka Śmietany.
W swoim Stir Up Studio kontynuuje produkcje muzyczną, nagrania i doświadczenia z dźwiękiem.
